‘Syndicate’ Developer Cutting Staff

It would appear that the gaming world is just as susceptible to the ill fortune of a downturn in the economy.
Starbreeze Studios who have been developing the 21st century reboot of the hit 90s game Syndicate have revealed that they are going to be making staff cuts once work on the game is finished.
The company are to cut 25 jobs according to a report on Digital Spy, but has also lost board member Peter Tornquist who is to resign from his post.
Taornquist has headed up Starbreeze since 2007 after having moved up from his prior position of vice chairman.
“It is sad that we are forced to make staff cutbacks affecting employees,” said company CEO Mikael Nermark, “but we have to reduce staff after the final delivery of Syndicate.”
In regards to the game Syndicate producer Jeff Gamon has said this new take on the game should be thought of as a new gaming franchise and not a continuation of the classic series that was released in the 90s and gave me hours of fun on the old Omega Computer.
