THQ Roll Out Future Gaming Plans For 2012/13

For a few years now THQ have been up there with the likes of Electronic Arts when it comes to producing quality video games across all consoles and PC formats. And it would seem that they continue to go on releasing top games well into the 2012 and 2013 season.
Late last week the company that has brought us some of the most memorable videos games announced their plans for the fiscal year of 2013, which starts in April and heading up those plans are some pretty impressive titles and one tie – in title that will make fans of Comedy Centrals South Park very happy.
The company plans seven titles for this fiscal year and they include: Darksiders 2 in June, South Park: The Game in the year’s third quarter, Metro: Last Light in the fourth quarter beginning January 2013 and two unannounced “core titles”.
But wait. The fun doesn’t end there because THQ also have planned games for release in the fiscal year of 2014 and these titles include: Homefront 2 from Crytek, Guillermo Del Toro’s horror title InSane and an unannounced title from Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock Studio.
These planned releases will make many gamers very happy and THQ will be hoping for some major successes with these releases given that they reportedly had losses of $55 million in the last quarter, which was supposedly down to their uDraw Game Tablet’s failing to sell as well as hoped, which supposedly accounts for a potential $100 million in potential sales and lost revenue.
As somewhat of a casual gamer and fan of some of the output by THQ, which have played across most formats over the years. I hope that THQ are able to turn their fortunes around and make some decent profits in the next quarter. This is a company that has been doing games since the 1980s and a brand that I’ve always trusted in terms of quality output.
In the meantime check out the following cool video of the first 12 minutes of Metro: Last Light, which was previewed at last years E3 show.
