WHEDON CASTS LEADS ‘IN YOUR EYES’

Zoe Kazan and Michael Stahl-David have been cast as the leads in Joss Whedon’s next movie. A production of Bellwether Pictures, the company started by Whedon and his wife, Kai Cole, In Your Eyes is described as “a metaphysical love story about two seemingly polar opposites who are deeply connected in ways neither could have ever imagined.” Written by Whedon, the movie is slated to be directed by Brin Hill.

Stahl-David (Cloverfield) is cast as Dylan, a boyish-looking man who served jail time for a robbery when he refused to name his accomplices. He now lives in a trailer in New Mexico. Kazan (It’s Complicated) will play Rebecca, an attractive, skinny, slightly awkward woman who is married to an older doctor and lives in Connecticut.

The two realize that they have a powerful connection even though they’ve never met. Despite this, they can hear and see each other even while being at opposite ends of the country.

According to Whedon, “When I wrote In Your Eyes, I didn’t have the wherewithal (or the moxie) to make it without an established production house. I believe, as I did then, that it’s a pretty timeless romance, and now, with the creation of Bellwether Pictures (and Brin Hill’s elegant, passionate take on the piece), I have the opportunity to prove it. (I also have a 37% increase in moxie.) I love this team and I can’t wait to see them bring ‘In Your Eyes’ to life.”
