JJ Abrams and NBC Bring ‘Revolution’
What would happen if there was no electricity? Could you survive? That’s the question posed to the cast of ‘Revolution’, who are forced to live without. In the epic adventure thriller coming from NBC, a family struggles to reunite in a postapocalyptic American landscape: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out … forever.
‘Revolution’ is headlined by ‘Twilight’ dad Billy Burke, from ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Once Upon a Time’ is Giancarlo Esposito and from ‘Ringer’ is Andrea Roth. Other cast members include Tracy Spiridakos (Syfy’s ‘Being Human’), Graham Rogers, Tim Guinee, JD Pardo, Zak Orth and Anna Lise Phillips.
When looking at this photo, does anyone else get a ‘Jericho’/'Terra Nova’ vibe with a touch of ‘Firefly’? I’m also getting a ’Hunger Games’ feel with the bows. The overall tone feels very familiar.
‘Revolution’ will be written by ‘Supernatural’s Eric Kripke, produced by Abrams and (the pilot) directed by Jon Favreau. Filming is taking place in Atlanta.
I hate to admit it, but if any project gets the JJ touch, I’m more than likely to give it a shot. Having both Kripke and Favreau aboard also puts this show in a favorable light for me.
