Amy Adams has revealed that he version of Lois Lane in the new superman movie, which is titled ‘Man Of Steel’ will not be the same Lois Lane that we’ve become accustomed to in the comics series or even the movies.

In an interview with USA Today the actress who caused some controversy by deciding to retain her red hair for the movie talked a little about her take on Lois Lane and how the new movie will differ from any of the Superman movies that came before.

“I knew people would want to talk about my hair colour. It was going to be a thing.

“Zack told me he didn’t hire me to play someone else. He hired me to play Lois Lane. It’s a whole reimagining.”

Although this version of the Lois Lane character will be different from any that we have seen before Adams revealed that she has a lot of admiration for how Margot Kidder portrayed the role in the Superman movies of the 70s and 80s.

“I grew up really loving (her),” she said. “I wasn’t trying to be her, but I hope I do enough of a good job to have the same effect on young girls as Lois Lane had on me.

“I really loved seeing a woman represented as a modern woman in a superhero movie, and not even glamourised, really – she was kind of a troublemaker. She wasn’t a typical heroine. I identified with her from a very young age.”

Adams recently said that Lane “definitely gets herself in a lot of trouble” in the new film.

Man of Steel will be released on June 14, 2013.
