CW officially order pilot for their reboot of ‘The Tomorrow People’
The CW have recently updated the online media about new forthcoming pilots that they have on order for this fall.
You may remember a number of weeks ago that we reported on CWs planned remake of the cult UK 70s series ‘The Tomorrow People.’
In this new batch of updates from CW, which we have picked up via TV LINE. It appears that the network has committed to The Tomorrow People.
As most of our UK readers will know. The Tomorrow People was a hit series in the UK during the 1970s. The show centred on a group of teenagers from earths future who represent the next stage in human evolution.
The series, which was made by Thames Television for ITV was remade in 1992 and enjoyed a rather successful run, but this CW production represents its first American incarnation.
Here is how TV Line have described this new US version:
he Tomorrow People, adapted from the 1970s UK series, follows several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, all possessing special powers including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil. Greg Berlanti (Arrow) and Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries) will executive-produce along with writer Phil Klemmer (Chuck).
In other related CW pilot news. Deadline have recently reported that the planned Wonder Woman series, which is titled Amazon and concerns a young Diana Prince prior to her becoming Wonder Woman, has been pushed back to next year. Sources have revealed that the pilot script for Amazon has not yet arrived, but most feel that Amazon is a contender for being a midseason replacement for the 2013/2014 television season. Meaning it will most likely air sometime early in 2014 if indeed it manages to get into production by then.
