Disney Wants Original ‘Star Wars’ Illustrator Back
Drew Struzan, who made quite a name for himself in Hollywood circles for his fantastic illustrations and posters went a long way to helping make the Star Wars movies into the success they became and it would seem that Disney want him back.
Struzan, who has done movie posters and illustrations for movies as wide ranging as Indiana Jones to ET and the Back To The Future movies has been trying to rest up and enjoy some retirement time of late, but it would seem Disney have other plans for him.
The question is though would the artist consider returning to work his wonderful magic on Disney’s three planned Star Wars movies. In a statement the artist wasn’t ruling it out, but at the same time was playing his cards close to his chest.
“You know, I spent 35 years painting Star Wars. I painted Star Wars before most of you were born! But I guess there is always a chance. There’s no intention. But I would love to have a day off every now and again, and I have to work a weekend and all through the night. If the opportunity arises, it will be a real temptation. But it’s going to have to be a real temptation to get me away from my wife and my little grandkids and my family. Away from the green trees and the blue skies for a change instead of just locked in the studio. But, you know, never say never. All things are possible.”
As a fan of movies and as someone who appreciates good art work. I’d love to see Struzan do some more Star Wars.
