Synopsis: Join Young Justice and watch them battle villains and fight crime in a 2 disk 10 episode collection!

Review: Have been fortunate enough to review most of the first season of Young Justice and though that first season was fantastic viewing. The second season, which has an even bigger story arc than what we saw in the first seems a bit more grown up.

The series sees the team battling against an alien invasion in the opening two parts and there is a matter of certain Justice League members not being able to account for 16 hours worth of time which they spent on another planet.

Perhaps one of the big surprises to me watching this first half of the second season is the storyline concerning Aqualad. In the first season Aqualad was the leader of the teenaged Young Justice team, but in the second series Aqualad seems to have turned over a new leaf and is no longer on the same page as his former associates.

The second season picks up five years after the events we seen played out in the first. So we see even more changes to the team, which still includes Superboy, Martian Girl and Kid Flash, but now includes Nightwing, Wondergirl, Blue Beetle, Batgirl and Beast Boy.

In one particular episode in this first part of the second season we see all the female characters go off on a mission together, which made for a fun watch. It also allows us to see Batgirl in action, who doesn’t really get to much of a look in during this first half of season two.

The relationship between Martian Girl and Superboy that was developing in the first season is now very much on the rocks in this second season, but we do see some really well thought out storylines dealing with the fact that the two still do have feelings for each other.

But much like the first season the real attraction of Young Justice is the action and we have it here in spades, but we also have a massive storyline involving former Young Justice leader Aqualad, which creates some surprises along the way.

All in all if your a fan of animation this set is great, but if you are a fan of both animation and DC superheroes. This is great fun and well worth adding to the DVD collection. The best news is its out now on DVD in all good US based outlets.

On a closing note. Please not that this review is for the region 1 version of the DVD.
