We’ve seen a lot of feature length animated movies from DC over the years, but not so many have come out from Marvel of late and it looks like the house of ideas is about to correct that oversight.

The powers that be at Marvel have set to work on a new animated movie, which will see The Punisher and Black Widow working together.

The Punisher is perhaps one of Marvels most gritty characters and perhaps the most popular anti hero in the Marvel universe.

In a recent interview with the Word Balloon podcast Jeff Loeb revealed that this crossover between Punisher and Black widow would follow hot on the heels of their long anticipated Iron Man: Rise of Technovore.

Loeb didn’t confirm whether the Punisher’s crossover with Black Widow will be an anime-inspired feature, like Iron Man: Rise of Technovore, but did reveal that Marvel has 15 animated projects in the works.

Ray Stevenson, who played Punisher in the unsuccessful Punisher Warzone recently lent his voice to the character in an episode of The Super Hero Squad Show.

Black Widow has regularly featured within Marvels animated universe for both their animated films and TV projects. Her most recent appearances have been in The Super Hero Squad Show and Iron Man: Armored Adventures.

Marvel is yet to announce a title for the Punisher and Black Widow-fronted crossover.
