Jason Clarke to Star in ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’
Jason Clarke, who is best known for his recent performance in the movie Zero Dark Thirty has signed up to star in ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Ape’s,’ which is the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Ape’s.
The film will be directed by Matt Reeves. Not many plot details have been revealed about the movie, but it will be set about 15 – years after the events that we saw play out in 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which starred James Franco. One aspect of the plot will see a group of scientist struggling to survive in San Francisco while another part of the story will centre on the struggle of the intelligent ape’s led by Caesar, who will once again be played by Andy Serkis.
At present it is unclear who Clarke will play.
Peter Chernin, Dylan Clarke, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa are producing the movie, which is working off a script by Mark Bomback.
Apes is aiming to go before cameras in the Spring.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes was seen as an intelligent and upscale reboot of the movie property. An association with the sequel stands to maintain Clarke’s acting cred while allowing him to raise his profile via a tentpole franchise.
