When Doctor Who returns on March 30 we can look forward to an episode titled ‘Journey To The Centre Of The Tardis,’ which by all accounts promises to reveal much more of the Tardis then we have ever seen.

Throughout the series we’ve heard references to a swimming pool and we know for a fact that the Tardis has bedrooms thanks to the ponds and their ‘Big Bang,’ but we’ve never seen any of these rooms.

To date all we have seen of the Tardis in the modern series is a couple of console rooms and a lot of corridors.

In a new interview for the Radio Times Steven Moffat promised that the episode would have “Great visuals,” but would also show us more of the Tardis than we have ever seen.

“We’ve built the rest of the Tardis!” Moffat told the magazine.

“The idea is in the title; we’re going to journey to the centre of the Tardis. We’ve got some great visuals for that,” he revealed at this year’s Gallifrey One convention in Los Angeles.

Ashley Walters, who guest stars in the episode, backed Moffat up saying “in our episode it’ll be the first time people get to see so much of the Tardis.”

The new interiors for the Tardis are the work of production designer Michael Pickwoad. The new console room, which you can see pictured above was revealed during last years Christmas episode.

Just what rooms we can expect to see in ‘Journey To The Centre Of The Tardis’ are not likely to be revealed until nearer the time.
