‘Tank Girl’ Creators re-teaming for new project

‘Tank Girl’ creators Alan Hewlett and Alan Martin are to re -team for a new original project.

In a recent interview for Robot 6 Alan Martin talked a little about the project, but chose to keep it somewhat of a mystery as to what the new comic would be.

“Jamie let slip a month or so ago that we would be working on a new Tank Girl book, but that was before we’d really talked about it,” he said.

“I am planning something with Jamie soon, but it will be a brand-new, non-Tank Girl project. Anyway, nothing solid, nothing guaranteed, but we will be applying ourselves quite soon, and maybe leading the project with some merchandise starting later this year.”

Martin has continued to work on Tank Girl since Hewlett’s departure from the property, working with artists including Philip Bond, Glyn Dillon, Ashley Wood, Jim Mahfood, Rufus Dayglo, Andy Pritchett and Mike McMahon.

Hewlett is best known as the artist behind Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz.

Tank Girl recently returned with the latest miniseries ‘Everybody Loves Tank Girl’.
