Carrie Fisher will not be Princess Leia in Star Wars VII
OK, wait a minute, I’m confused! Is Carrie Fisher reprising her role as Princess Leia in the next Star Wars movie or not? Now it seems that Ms. Fisher’s representative is telling CNN that nothing is official.
I’m still confused! Either someone in the interview was smoking plant vapors when the interview was happening, or the other person was drinking a little too much Ambrosia when the interview was being typed up, but either way you look at it, someone got their sub space communiques mixed up in this story!
This is now what Carrie Fisher’s official position is as it was presented earlier today to CNN. “She was joking,” a rep for Fisher told CNN about the star’s comment. “Nothing has been announced.”
So after having given an interview to Palm Beach Illustrated and seemingly confirming her role in the next Star Wars movie, it seems that either she spoke out of turn way too soon before she was supposed to or she was simply taken out of context.
Ms. Fisher’s representative went on to say that, “Carrie Fisher is open to the idea of joining the cast of Disney’s upcoming “Star Wars’ films, but that doesn’t mean it’s a done deal.”
These thoughts are actually quite interesting and would seem to indicate that perhaps negotiations are still on-going. Further words from Ms. Fisher’s representative went on to say, “When and if something is announced, though, we’ll be interested to see if it falls in line with Fisher’s vision of what her character would be like today.”
So is it that Ms. Fisher is open to joining the cast, but is in some way insistent that the character of Princess Leia must meet an acceptable ideal she has in mind? Or perhaps she is waiting on Disney to meet her financial requirement to reprise her role, or is this simply her team back tracking from Fisher mishandling the Palm Beach Illustrated interview?
Well, only time will tell, but one thing is for sure, Carrie Fisher will not at present be reprising her role as Princess Leia! At least not for today that is! But please tune in tomorrow or perhaps later on today as she might change her mind again! May the Force be with someone I suppose!
