Is A ’24′ movie going to happen?

Is a ’24′ movie ever going to happen?

That’s the question that has been on the minds of many fans of the popular series, which rebooted Kiefer Sutherland’s acting career and gave him the role of a life time as the iconic no nonsense American hero Jack Bauer.

The TV series ended its run back in 2010 and saw a touching final scene between Jack and Chloe as Jack was forced to go dark, but it seems Jack has been dark for quite some time now. There was always talk of a ’24′ movie while the series was still in production and the last three years has seen the planned movie remain in some sort of production limbo.

That limbo looks like it is about to continue on.

Speaking to IndieWire recently, ‘Training Day’ director Antoine Fuqua, who had been attached to direct Jack Bauer’s big-screen transition revealed that things are not looking good for the film. When asked about it he said: “Its not happening. I don’t think it’s gonna happen at all, definitely not with me.” A potential part of the hold-up: “I don’t think [Kiefer Sutherland] was able to get a proper agreement with Fox,” Fuqua revealed.

So it looks like we’ll have to wait with baited breath for something more positive or just resign ourselves to the fact that Jack has well and truly gone dark this time. The production needs Chloe to sort all of this out.
