John Barrowman will not be in ‘Doctor Who’ 50th anniversary episode

John Barrowman, who has developed a cult following thanks to his role of Captain Jack Harkness, who made several appearances in Doctor Who’s early seasons and went on to be the lead in the spin off series Torchwood has revealed that he will not be in the 50th anniversary special.

In a tweet earlier today the actor confirmed that he would not play any part in the 50th anniversary episode, which is due to begin shooting in a matter of weeks.

“I will not be involved in the 50th Anniversary Episode of Dr WHO,” Barrowman tweeted earlier today.

There has been an ongoing rumor that he would be in the special 50th anniversary episode, which will allegedly involve all 11 incarnations of the much loved Time Lord.

In fact a matter of weeks ago on ITV’s This Morning program the actor strongly hinted that he was in talks about a role in Doctor Who with the BBC, but would not say what it was when pushed. So whether that is for the pending 8th season of the show, which would likely air over autumn of 2013 and Spring of 2014 as yet remains to be seen.

But as far as the actual 50th anniversary episode is concerned it looks like the BBC have passed on bring Jack into the fold for now.
