Karl Urban beams onto J.J. Abrams futuristic cop show ‘Human’
Karl Urban, who we’ll soon see reprising the role of Dr. Bones McCoy in Star Trek Into Darkness will be beaming over to television land to lend his acting talents for J.J. Abrams new futuristic cop drama, which has been titled ‘Human.’
The series is being billed as a buddy cop action adventure, which is set in a future where cops are paired up with Android partners.
According to TV Line the actor will play John Kennex, a respected police officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission left him critically injured. He is paired with Dorian (Common Law‘s Michael Ealy), an android detective who, ironically, has a better grasp of humanity than he does.
The cast also includes Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Lili Taylor (Six Feet Under), Michael Irby (The Unit) and Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean).
The pilot for ‘Human’ is written by J.H. Wyman, who worked with J.J. Abrams on ‘Fringe’.
‘Human’ will air on Fox.
