Resident Evil 6 confirmed for a hopefull reboot
Apparently Resident Evil 5 was not enough of bad a movie for the franchise star Milla Jovovich (Alice) and director Paul W.S. Anderson to say no thanks. Either misery loves company or the pair have decided to make up for the last installment of the highly successful box office and game franchise.
Apparently Anderson wanted to film the next installment of the franchise on the tails of Retribution, but thankfully chose to focus on one film, because I thought the movie was simply a waste of good zombieness. So coming back the sixth movie in the Resident Evil franchise will give the studio, Anderson and maybe most importantly Jovovich the chance to make perhaps one final good zombie movie!
But then again, this last movie raked in more than $221 million from the box office alone, so there seem to still be legs in this franchise regardless of what I might think of the production value in Retribution.
I will say this however, the last movie ended on a great visual if not convoluted note, so perhaps the makings of a fun zombie / sci fi movie can indeed rise from the ashes of Retributions mess. Can you say reboot Mr. Anderson???
