Simon Pegg puts an end to ‘Star Wars 7′ rumour: “It’s Bantha Poodoo”
Star Trek Into Darkness star Simon Pegg has put an end to speculation linking him to a role in the new J.J. Abrams Star Wars movie, which is being prepped at Disney.
The Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead star was tipped for a role fairly quickly after the official announcement that J.J. Abrams would be directing the first out of the planned sequel trilogy to the original Star Wars films, but the actor has now quashed such rumours as a cruel Jedi Mind trick.
“No idea where this silly rumour about me attached to the new Star Wars film came from but I can confirm that it’s absolute Bantha poodoo (not true),” he wrote on Twitter.
Star Wars original trilogy actors Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford have all been linked with a return to the series for the seventh instalment, though no casting has been officially confirmed.
Star Wars Episode 7 is scheduled for release in 2015.
