Daleks and Cybermen could join the Zygons in ‘Doctor Who’ 50th
Writer Robert Banks Stewart, who is credited with having created The Zygons for Doctor Who has dropped hints that his Zygons could very likely be joined by Daleks and Cybermen and a multitude of other classic Doctor Who monsters in the 50th Anniversary episode.
“The Zygons are in there with all the others – particularly the Daleks and the Cybermen,” Banks Stewart – who was promoting his new crime thriller novel The Hurricane’s Tail – told Digital Spy.
“[But] nobody yet knows what the plot of the 50th will be – Steven Moffat and his team in Cardiff, they are quite rightly keeping it all secret.”
Banks Stewart is the writer who created the classic Zygons in ‘Terror of the Zygons’ (1975) and ‘The Seeds of Doom’ (1976).
The writer, who was promoting his new book ‘The Hurricane’s Tail’ added that he feels the new Doctor Who series is a little more adult than the Doctor Who show he remembers having worked on in the 70s.
“My own personal opinion is that the modern Doctor Who should be aimed more at children,” he said.
“People very fondly remembered being scared by Doctor Who – now the plots seem to me a little too adult.”
