‘Ghostbusters 3′ could go before cameras in 2014

Its had a few false starts when it comes to scripts as well as the will he or won’t he soap opera of whether or not Bill Murray will rejoin the cast, but it looks like ‘Ghostbusters 3′ could be making some forward momentum.

In a new interview with ABC NEWS Dan Aykroyd said that things are looking good on the production for a potential 2014 start.

“I know that we’re expecting half of the screenplay to be completed very soon. It should be into production by the fall and be shooting by the New Year,” he said.

“I won’t say anything, it’s very exciting. The Higgs boson and the particle theories, gluons and mesons, that really gives us a scientific base in terms of our fictional storytelling, to open up to another dimension and have something horrible come through.”

Aykroyd went on to add that the film will go into into “ninth gear” and attempt to bring back Bill Murray’s Peter Venkman.

“It’s going to be very, very exciting. I’ve been more encouraged than I ever have been. It sounds real now,” he said.

“We’ve got a sharp new writer on it, Ivan is on it, Harold [Ramis] is on it, I’m on it. And if I can put the catch-net on Billy [Murray] and bring him in, it will be wonderful, if he decides to do it. There will always be a hole for him.”

Over the last 2 years of Ghostbusters 3 buzz Bill Murray has always said that his return to the film series would very much depend on the script, but in his last interview concerning the film franchise he was pretty adamant about not returning to the series on a whim.

Dan Aykroyd when talking about Bill Murray’s potential involvement felt that Murray did not read the last script that he did for Ghostbusters 3.

“I don’t think he read it, because, you know what? If he’d read the second draft that I completely rewrote, he would be doing the movie,” he explained. “If he’d read that draft. The part I wrote for him.”
