Star Wars Land in Disney World Florida by 2018?

It has been reported that Disney have plans to open a Star Wars theme park within the confines of Disney World in Orlando Florida.

The new theme park, which is to be called Star Wars Land is said to be part of Disney’s plans to expand its Hollywood Studios park by 2018, according to Theme Park Insider.

A park devoted to the hit animated film Cars called Cars Land is also in development at Disney.

The parks are said to be a five-year project, in order to be completed by 2018.

However, the website claims that Disney may invest extra funds in the project in order to launch it in time for the second new Star Wars movie in 2017.

Disney is yet to officially confirm or deny the rumours.

Star Wars Episode VII, which is being written by Toy Story 3′s Michael Arndt is expected to reach cinema’s in 2015.

We’ll also see two other films to round out the third Star Wars trilogy and a further two spin – off movies.
