HBO give ‘True Blood’ a seventh season
It looks like vampire fans have cause to celebrate because HBO have picked up ‘True Blood’ for a seventh season.
The vampire drama will return for another run of episodes in summer 2014 after HBO announced its renewal today (July 15).
Exec producer Brian Buckner will return to the show for its seventh series, after taking over from creator Alan Ball for the current sixth season.
HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo said: “True Blood remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers.
“Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”
There has been no confirmation about the number of episodes commissioned for the seventh season, following a shorter run of episodes this season.
Season six of True Blood airs on Sundays at 9/8 ET on HBO. It will debut on FOX this autumn in the UK.
