Stan Lee Confident that we’ll see a ‘Silver Surfer’ movie
Stan Lee has confidently said that we will no doubt see a movie based on Silver Surfer in the future.
The comics legend said that there is “no way” the character he and Jack Kirby created in the pages of Fantastic Four will not get a solo movie.
“Back at Marvel, they are frantically looking for what is the next one they’re going to do,” Lee told MTV Geek at Wizard Con.
“There is no way they won’t eventually do a Silver Surfer movie.
“It may not be for a few years because they’re thinking and working on Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy. Everything we have. And the fans seem to want all of them. But they’ll get around to a Silver Surfer feature because he’s a wonderful character.”
The character was last seen in the poorly received Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer in which Doug Jones portrayed the character while Laurence Fishburne provided his voice to the character.
At present the movie rights to the character are with 20th Century Fox, but will revert back to Marvel in the future once Fox’s lease of the rights runs its course.
A Fantastic Four reboot film is currently in the works with Chronicle’s Josh Trank attached to direct.
