‘Spider-man: Turn off the Dark’ becomes subject of new book
The broadway musical ‘Spider-man: Turn Of The Dark’ is to be the topic of a new tell all book.
Glen Berger, who worked with the Broadway musical’s original director Julie Taymor, is writing a behind the scenes book for Simon & Schuster.
‘Song of Spider-Man’ will chart the series of dramas that the troubled production suffered through its development.
It was widely reported that the production suffered a fair few major delays due to backstage squabbling and a string of injuries, which led up to the eventual departure of Julie Taymor.
The book alleges that Marvel executives were concerned that Taymor’s dark vision for the show would damage the Spider-Man brand. The production’s tone was significantly lightened before its debut.
Song of Spider-Man will be released in November.
