Superman/Batman film to shoot at L.A. football game

The as yet untitled Superman/Batman (which should probably include World’s Finest) film, directed by Zack Snyder, will be shooting in Los Angeles this Saturday, October 19th, 2013 at the East Los Angeles College Weingart stadium during the halftime of a regularly scheduled Husky football game.

The East Los Angeles College and Victor Valley College game is scheduled to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. and by the time the game’s halftime arrives, those stadium attendees will be transformed and transported to a Gotham City University game between Gotham University and their long-time rival Metropolis State University.

Interestingly, Snyder and the film’s producers are looking for folks in the Los Angeles area, with a preference for ELAC students, in order to be extras for the upcoming Superman/Batman film. What is fun about this shoot is that the first 2,000 people sitting in the stadium’s filming area will get to wear and keep a T-shirt reportedly designed by Snyder himself, with the Gotham City colors of black and gold.

The film will shoot three takes of three plays during halftime. The crew will be capturing the actors and crowd’s reactions.

The filming will be approximately 20 minutes in length during halftime with the second half of the regular ELAC game following the Superman/Batman shoot.

What is even cooler than this Super Hero film shoot in between a real college game is that Snyder, the film’s director, wanted to specifically use the ELAC stadium to support ELAC and the community.

While this film still does not have a title, the Superman/Batman (World’s Finest) film is set to open in theaters nationwide July 17, 2015. I absolutely cannot wait and only wish I attended East Los Angeles Community College, as I would love to be there.
