Depp in talks to be Marvel’s Doctor Strange in 2016
It seems that the veteran Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp, has met and is in discussions with Marvel regarding his taking on the future role of Doctor Strange in 2016.While Depp is now 50 years old, the actor is a known comic genre fan, and is apparently quite interested to become a part of the Mighty Marvel movie franchise.
Latino Review, which is typically quite accurate with respect to their reporting, indicated that while the original script was written with a 30 year old actor in mind, the powers that be would be more than willing to rewrite it if it meant bringing Johnny Depp on Board.
As for that Doctor Strange script itself, it is said to be an origin story in which Strange must struggle and come to terms with the guilt of letting his sister die. Johnny Depp would seem to be a good candidate for the lead role in what would be sure to be a great portrayal of the mystical and enigmatic Doctor Strange on the big screen.
