‘Dracula’s’ Thomas Kretschmann joins Marvels ‘Avengers Age of Ultron’ cast
Thomas Kretschmann has been cast in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The actor who plays Abraham Van Helsing in NBC’s Dracula, will join the film in the role of a villain.
It is not known at this point which villain the actor will play, but our best guess is that he’ll be playing Baron Wolfgang von Strucker.
The Stanlingrad actor has also appeared alongside Angelina Jolie in Wanted.
A number of new actors will be joining the franchise for the sequel, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson playing Quicksilver and Elizabeth Olsen as his sister the Scarlett Witch.
The film’s main villain Ultron will be played by James Spader.
The actor said of the role: “I think it’ll be a lot of fun and it’s incredibly nostalgic for me.
“When I was a kid my best friend had trunks of comics and I didn’t have any so I used to love going for sleepovers at his house. Also I have three sons and two of them have a great interest in comics so they’re excited I’m playing the role.”
Avengers: Age of Ultron opens at cinemas on May 1, 2015.
