Michelle Forbes cast in recurring role on ‘Orphan Black’
Michelle Forbes who in her early career made quite an impression on ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ is soon to make a return to genre television with a recurring role in the new BBC America drama ‘Orphan Black’ which returns for a second season in the not to distant future.
Forbes who recently finished filming ‘Chicago Fire’ will do multiple episodes in ‘Orphan Black’.
Forbes will play Marian Bowles, a powerful new player at the Dyad Institute with a birds-eye view on the war between Sarah and Rachel.
Since leaving ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ in the 1990s Forbes has forged out an impressive list of roles and has returned to genre shows a few times. The last recurring role she had in a genre show was the second season of ‘True Blood’ where she was deliciously evil in her role of Maryann Forrester. Since ‘True Blood’ she has enjoyed roles in such high profile series like ‘The Killing,’ which was the American version of the original Danish crime thriller.
Joining Forbes in the new series of ‘Orphan Black’ will be Michiel Huisman (Nashville), Peter Outerbridge (Nikita) and Ari Millen (Rookie Blue, Nikita).
Orphan Black returns Sunday, April 19.
The UK premier of season 2 will likely be later in the year.
