NBC Orders DC Comics’ Constantine Pilot
It has been on the cards for awhile, but it is now official.
NBC have ordered a pilot episode for a proposed television drama based on the popular DC Comics anti hero Constantine.
The ‘Constantine’ series will be a loose adaptation of the comics series and is to be written by Daniel Cerone (Dexter), who will exec-produce with David Goyer (Batman Begins), Constantine follows “master of the occult” John Constantine as he struggles with his faith and is haunted by the sins of his past, then is suddenly thrust into the role of defending humanity from the gathering forces of darkness.
A few years back there was a movie adaptation, which starred Keanu Reeves as the troubled detective, but it didn’t really go over to well with fans of the comic book.
Given the proven writing abilities of Daniel Cerone and of course David S. Goyer. It will be interested to see how well the comic book character would translate to the small screen.
