Zoe Saldana secures the lead role in NBC’S ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ remake
Zoe Saldana, who is best known to genre fans as the new Lt Uhura in J.J. Abrams recent ‘Star Trek’ movies has secured the lead in the new NBC mini series remake of the cult horror classic ‘Rosemary’s Baby.’
Saldana will play Rosemary, the role made famous by Mia Farrow in Roman Polanski’s 1968 film, in the Peacock Net’s upcoming miniseries based on Ira Levin’s demonic novel.
NBC’s adaptation of the story moves much of the action to Paris, where young wife/mother-to-be Rosemary and her husband move into an apartment with a dark history. As time passes, Rosemary becomes convinced that her husband and neighbors have nefarious designs on her unborn child.
Saldana is to also executive produce the four hour mini series alongside Joshua Maurer (Rubicon) and Lionsgate Television. Agnieszka Holland (Treme) will direct, with a script by Scott Abbott (Introducing Dorothy Dandridge) and James Wong (American Horror Story)
