In a recent Q&A for SciFi Wire Craig Horner who plays the part of Richard Cypher in this weekend’s new Television Series Legend Of The Seeker gave a few insights about the series.

As already reported the series is based on the Sword Of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind, and the series will use the book Wizards First Rule for it’s main arc, but also have stand alone stories built within that premise. When asked about the series Horner hinted that they would be pushing the envelope as much as they can once they get into the main series.

“After the pilot we’re in a land of magic, and anything goes. What’s great about this series is that while it will have a narrative and arc over the 22 episodes, a start and a finish, each episode is self-contained. We just go to a new place each time, and we meet new characters each time, and we get into new trouble each time that we’ve got to get out of. So it’ll be cool.”

Much like the books the central relationship of the series is between Richard Cypher and Kahlan (Bridget Regan) who acts as both a Guide and protector for Richard in the series.

“They’re great relationships. He gets taken through this world of magic that he’s never seen, that he’s only heard about, because the are two worlds that are separated by a magical boundary. No one’s allowed in, and no one’s allowed out, so he’s seeing everything for the first time. And the audience is seeing it for the first time. So his relationships with Kahlan and Zedd, he literally meets them in episode one. You will go along with them on the ride as these characters get closer and closer and go through more and more adventures together.”

Legend Of The Seeker premieres tomorrow evening in Both the USA and Canada. Check you TV listings magazines for more details on this great new fantasy series.

Last month we reported on an interview with Movie Producer and Comics writer Mark Millar, who outlined his idea for a fresh series of Superman movies.

Though a deal is still at the talking stages between Millar and Warner Bros, who have already stated that they wish to have a grittier version of Superman. It hasn’t stopped Millar from talking about his ideas for a trilogy of movies about The Man Of Steel.

Talking recently to Empire Magazine, the writer/producer gave a few more insights about his plans.

“It’s gonna be like Michael Corleone in the Godfather films, the entire story from beginning to end, you see where he starts, how he becomes who he becomes, and where that takes him.

The Dark Knight showed you can take a comic book property and make a serious film, and I think the studios are ready to listen to bigger ideas now.”

“I want to start on Krypton, a thousand years ago, and end with Superman alone on planet Earth, the last being left on the planet, as the yellow sun turns red and starts to supernova, and he loses his powers.”

Millar who made a big splash into movies earlier this year, with the movie adaptation of his Graphic Novel Wanted, presently hard at work on his new movie Kick Ass, also based on one of his own comic book creations.

New Robocop A Reinvention

Remakes seem to be the trend in Hollywood right now. This year alone has seen a number of them, and soon to be joining them is the new Robocop movie, which Darren Aronofsky is selling us as a reinvention of the classic 1987 Paul Verhoeven movie.

Aronofsky who is to direct the movie was full of praise for writer David Self in his most recent interview for Empire Magazine. “He’s a great, great writer and we’re trying to do something new and fresh.

“We’ll see what happens when the screenplay comes.”

He continued: “I’m a big fan of the original. It still holds up as an amazing film, and I think it’s more just looking at that same type of material in the 21st century and seeing where it leads us.”

Anonofsky’s contribution to the futuristic movie franchise is the first Robocop movie, since 1993. The Paul Verhoeven original spun off into a moderately successful movie franchise on which a TV series and video games soon followed.
