Rodriguez Talks Predators

The original predator as it first appeared in the cult 1987 movie.
A few days ago SciFi Pulse reported that another Aliens movie may well be in the works, but also briefly mentioned that writer, producer and director Robert Rodriguez was working on a quasi remake or continuation of the hit science fiction movie Predator, which seen Arnold Schwarzenegger get down-staged by an impressive looking alien warrior, and forced him into a career in politics as The Governator.
In a recent chat with Aint It Cool news Rodriguez talked a little about his plans for the movie, which he has titled Predators in which all the action takes place on a jungle like planet.
“Predator is a masterpiece of the action/science fiction genre. It’s been borrowed from so much in other movies and even video games (that will now probably be turned into movies themselves) that I liked the idea that we could have Predators made relatively quickly. What I’d like to do with it is expand on ideas I dreamt up back in the original treatment, that had really expanded on the universe both the Predators and other species live in.
“We’d create new otherworldly characters while not taking away from the draw our main Predator has. I think another reason I called it Predators was to mark it as a project that should be taken seriously by a filmmaker to make a worthy follow-up to a classic, much in the way Cameron made Aliens a compelling work on its own, following Ridley Scott’s Alien.”
Rodriguez added that he sees this movie as an R – Rated movie, which remains true to its two predecessors, that is of course if you are like me and would rather wipe the two Alien Vs Predator movies out of existence.

Shanks Hints About Stargate Universe

It seems that Sci-Fi Channel, who will soon be re branded to Syfy Channel are still very much about their fetish for dark and gritty science fiction, and are carrying on the tradition started with their re-imagined Battlestar Galactica into the Stargate Universe.
In a recent interview for SciFi Wire Stargate SG – 1 star Michael Shanks who played the role of Dr. Daniel Jackson in the series and will guest star in the Stargate Universe pilot episode revealed that Universe is a different Stargate Show from its two predecessors.

Claire Bloom To Play The Doctors Mother?

Over the year’s we have learned much about Doctor, and last year we were teased with the possibility of learning his real name, but thankfully that was one secret, which the BBC and their writers were wise enough to keep.
One thing we have seen much of over the years on Doctor Who is references to his family. In fact in the very first serials of Doctor Who, back when the Doctor was portrayed by William Hartnell he travelled around with his Grand Daughter susan, and up until last year Susan was the only relative that we knew about, and of course we assume she is either still on earth of the future with her boyfriend or dead with the rest of The Doctors Timelord race.
