‘Warehouse 13′ Episode Most-Watched Original Series Telecast In Syfy History

The warehouse in South Dakota might need a new wing to house all the records the series is achieving.
By adding nearly one million viewers from Live + 7 DVR playback, (985,000), the fifth episode of Syfy’s Warehouse 13 became the most watched original series telecast in Syfy’s 17-year history, delivering 4.3 million total viewers.
As reported by SciFiPulse, the August 4 telecast entitled “Elements,” with guest star Joe Flanigan, also scored series highs with 1.8 million in adults 18-49, while garnering 2.2 million in adults 25-54 (the series’ second highest performance in this demo) and posting a 3.0 household rating.
From additional DVR playback data, the program added 576,000 adults 18-49 and 616,000 adults 25-54, according to a news release from SyFy Channel.

Disney To Pay $4 Billion For Marvel Entertainment

Walt Disney Co. agreed to pay around $4 billion in cash and stock to acquire Marvel Entertainment Inc., adding comic-book characters Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spider-Man to Disney’s lineup of princesses, classic characters, and live-action stars.
Disney Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger said buying Marvel will allow Disney to use the characters in its parks and stores. “We have a great opportunity to grow the Marvel brand,” Iger said in an interview with Bloomberg Television today.
The purchase gives Disney, which operates theme parks and the ABC broadcast network, ownership of more than 5,000 Marvel characters. Films based on Iron Man, Spider-Man and Wolverine have pulled in hundreds of millions at the box office. Read more »
