Although overshadowed of late by announcements for a Green Lantern movie as well as announcements from Marvel. A Green Arrow movie is still very much in the works, and producer David Goyer is still 100% involved.
Speaking in a recent interview for MTV Goyer explained that the Warner Bros project will still go ahead, with a new writer currently being sought to work on the script.
“We’re working on that. We’re about to bring on another writer. Obviously, Warner Bros is now heavily into mining all of the various DC properties,” he said.
The movie, which has the working title of Green Arrow: Super Max is rumoured to have the crime fighting vigilante wind up behind bars. Where he could be sharing a prison with a host of villains from the DC Universe. Lex Luthor and the Joker are reportedly down for cameos, alongside lesser-known antagonists.
The Green Arrow first appeared in More Fun Comics #73 in 1941.

will this be a live action or traditional animation ? It was interesting to see GA in Smallville, but as a 80 or 110 minute movie I will wait and see.

It’ll be a live action movie if David Goyers involved. Though I should imagine they’ll soft launch it with an animated movie first, much like they’ve done with the recent Green Lantern: First Flight.
