After the success of Batman: The Dark Knight it was inevitable that Warner Bros would want more – and naturally more is what they have asked for.
According to a report at Variety director Christopher Nolan has been given the go ahead for a third instalment of his Batman Movie series
“There’s a deal for the director to helm a third picture, but he has yet to decide on whether to tackle it yet,” said Alan Horn, head of Warner Bros. studios. “We have no idea where Chris is going with this. We haven’t had any conversations with him about it.”
Should Nolan take this offer. It’s unlikely that work will begin right away on the movie. Rumours suggest that Nolan is the process of working on other projects and will not return his attentions to Batman till work is complete on said new project.
Batman topped the US Box Office for four weeks and in that time has surpassed the success of the original Star Wars movie – making The Dark Knight the second highest grossing movie ever – it took the new Ben Stiller comedy satire Tropical Thunder to finally knock Batman: The Dark Knight off the top spot.
