Wonder Woman Role A Challenge, Says Dushku

The likelihood of us ever seeing a Wonder Woman movie by the end of the decade is looking ever increasingly unlikely, but that isn’t stopping folk from talking.
In a recent interview for MTV Eliza Dushku who is best know for her role as Echo in Dollhouse revealed that the role of Wonder Woman has been very much an internet fantasy for her.
“People always talk about Wonder Woman, and as far as I’ve ever lived or been conscious of, there’s been no project to be up for.
“So that’s sort of an… internet fantasy. They throw people’s names into it all the time and I’m always getting asked. But it wouldn’t disturb me if it became a reality.”
She added: “At this point, it’s been so hyped up it that it would be a challenge. But like I said, I’m not one to take the easy road. I like a challenge.”
Of course much of this speculation has been caused by the fact that for a time Joss Whedon was attached to write and direct a movie project based on the popular DC character, but that deal went sour last year.
Lynda Carter who played the role in the classic seventies series has stated in the past that Dushku would be ideal for the role.
A recent report that singer/actor Beyoncé has been in negotiations for the role has recently been proved a hoax. In fact to everyone’s knowledge all pre production on a planned Wonder Woman movie pretty much halted when Joss Whedon left.

Dushku would make a good WW except for her voice, too scratchy. A deeper, smokey voice, woud do nicely, WW is one tough warrior and would have to sound like one, right ?

What, you mean like Cher. Would that be called Plastic Woman though?

Nah, not Cher, although Amazons are ageeless. I don’t think the audience belief would stretch THAT far. No, it would have to be someone like Angelina Jolie (?)
