Dichen Lachman On The Character Development On Dollhouse
Written by Ian Cullen on October 18, 2009 – 12:00 pm -
Over the years Australian Soaps have brought a number talented actors to Hollywood and the American television market, and most have come from soaps such as Home and Away and Neighbours, which are two shows that are watched on mass in the UK.
Over the last couple of decades actors such as Russell Crowe, Isla Fisher and Chris Hemsworth have made it into American cinema and television, and earlier this year when Dollhouse first hit US and UK Television Dichen Lachman – who got a start on Neighbours joined them.
Lachman as fans of Dollhouse well know plays the role of Sierra who is fast catching up with Echo when it comes to gaining more self awareness, and in a recent interview for UK website Digital Spy the actor revealed some hints about season two, which begins airing on UK television on Tuesday.
While discussing the changes that have been tonally for the second season. Lachman promised that fans will likely see a somewhat less lighthearted approach this year, and added that her workload for the first couple of episodes would be somewhat light. Which doesn’t mean there will be no growth for Sierra this year!
“People can look forward to her becoming more aware. Obviously that’s the concept of the show that the Dolls are becoming aware, and they’re not supposed to. Prior to this season, Echo’s been the most aware, but Sierra will catch up to her a bit more. She’ll also get a little bit of her power back – not all of it, but some. She was quite the victim last season.”
When it comes to the other Dolls Lachman says it will be very much the same situation as last year, with certain dolls becoming more aware than others.
“Victor and Echo are the most aware and that is going to carry on through. I actually have no idea what they have in store. I’m very light in episodes one, two and three, so I’m not sure where they’re taking my character. But I think Victor and Sierra’s relationship will evolve. Into what, I don’t know. But people seemed to want to see more of that and I think they’ll be pleased that that is still going to be a part of the story.”
