jean-greyWill Jean Grey return or won’t she? That is the question that many fans of X-Men comics are asking right now, and it is all thanks to a recent interview with Marvel Editor and Chief Joe Quesada who revealed some tantalizing hints in a recent interview for Comic Book Resources.

Many fans of the comics have been wondering if the story arc A Girl Named Hope and the subsequent Second Coming would lead to the activation of new mutant powers in newer characters.

“The correct question might be, ‘Will there be any mutants left after Second Coming?’

“Hope’s return to the present will have a cataclysmic effect on the mutant population. She is the future for mutants, but what that future is, well, you’ll have to stay tuned to find out.

“Something big will be waiting for her – something that has been patiently biding its time, ready to snap shut a trap that we can confidently say is the biggest the X-Men have ever faced.

“Not everyone will make it out alive this time.”

When asked to comment on a return for Jean Grey all Quesada would only tease and said: “Let’s just say that Hope’s got red hair and green eyes and leave it at that.”

Psylocke #1, the first part of A Girl Named Hope, is out November 4.
