All Is Well With Green Hornet Says Rogen

For quite some time Green Hornet has had a wave of troubles thrown in its way. Yet shooting on the project marches on despite a bomb scare during the first week of production.
In a recent phone interview with SciFi Wire and various other media outlets Seth Rogen assured fans that all was well with the movie. And said that as producer, star and director has it all covered.
“Honestly, I think as a producer, a lot of your work is done before now,” Rogen told reporters. “It’s hiring the right people and making sure all the elements are in place and then trusting them to do what you hired them to do. But I’m there all the time, so I can make sure everything’s going well. There’s a lot of pressure. I understand that. I’ve been talking about this movie for years, and if it sucks, no one will be more disappointed than me, believe me.”
Green Hornet centres on millionaire playboy and newspaper publisher Britt Reid who dons a green designer suit and mask during the evenings to become the masked vigilante Green Hornet, who aided by trusty Kato fights crime.
The Green Hornet was originated during the 1930s as a radio drama, and migrated to comics and got a television seres during the 1960s in which Bruce Lee played the original Kato before becoming internationally well known for his Martial arts movies.
Over the last few months Green Hornet has had many issues, and according to Seth Rogen there were a few times where Columbia Pictures were considering pulling the plug altogether, which has put a huge amount of pressure on him as the movies producer and lead actor.
“You’ve still got to make it awesome, so the relief isn’t [completely] there yet. I will say, I take a huge amount of the pressure. I understand that. I understand that it’s my face on it when it literally comes out. Even if it sucks for another reason, people will blame me, and that’s why I have to be so involved to try to make sure that it doesn’t suck.”
Green Hornet is scheduled for release on December 17, 2010.
