DC Comics have released a synopsis, which outlines the final issue of The Last Days Of Animal Man, which is likely to feature the demise of the character.
The comic, which is penned by Gerry Conway with illustrations by Chris Batista and Dave Meikis, and a cover artwork from Brian Bolland. Will serve as the final chapter of the six part mini series, and will see Buddy Baker make his final stand against Mirror Master’s daughter Prismatik.
“Buddy Baker sees only one way to take down the Mirror Master’s daughter Prismatik and her homicidal partner Bloodrage – and even if it works, Animal Man won’t walk away from the fight. Will there be anything left to send home to what remains of his family? This future might not have a future at all,” read DC’s solicitation for the comic.
The character of Animal Man was created in 1965 by writer Dave Wood and artist Carmine Infantino. The character made his first appearance in Strange Adventures #180, but was later revamped during the 1980s for a more mature readership under the DC imprint of Vertigo Comics.
