The Doctor and reluctant assistent Adelaide Brooke (Lindsay Duncan).
After a prolonged wait we have now learned the release date for the second of the four Doctor Who specials, which is titled The Waters Of Mars.
Here in the UK the episode, which sees David Tennants tenth Doctor visit the red planet will air on 15 November 2009.
The episode will guest star Lindsay Duncan as Adelaide and Peter O’Brien as Adelaide’s second-in-command Ed. The plot follows The Doctor as he faces a deadly water-based threat on Mars’ Bowie Base One.
The episode is directed by Doctor Who veteran Graeme Harper and is written by Russell T. Davies and Phil Ford.
Fans in the USA will get to see The Waters Of Mars unedited when it airs on BBC American on December 19, 2009. Dates for the remaining two specials to air in the USA are as yet to be confirmed. However we can fairly confidently say that the first part of the two episode finale of David Tennants run as The Doctor will most likely air on Christmas Day here in the UK with the final chapter during New Years week.
