Dennis Leary To Adapt Gattaca For Television

gattacaDennis Leary’s production company Apostle Films have recently acquired the rights for the 1997 Science Fiction movie Gattaca, which starred Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman.

According to Variety the company is planning to develop Gattaca as a weekly hour long futuristic crime series. NCIS writer/producer Gil Grant has been chosen to write the series, which is being developed through Sony TV’s international division.

The 1997 movie Gattaca saw Ethan Hawke living as a genetically inferior human being in a world where the upper classes are able to have their genetic code re – written so they are genetically flawless.

The movie co-starred Jude Law, Uma Thurman and Oscar winner Alan Arkin as a homicide detective and was directed by Andrew Niccol.
