In a recent interview for Comic Book Resources writer Daniel Way revealed that Marvel’s Wolverine Origins story will come to a halt at issue 50.
Way who writes the book and co-writes Dark Wolverine with Marjorie Liu revealed that he’s had an ending planned for the comic for quite some time.
“The original plan was for Origins to run 60 issues.
“But with Daken breaking out on his own, in his own book, I’ve been able to accelerate that pace.”
Wolverine’s son Daken has featured in his own ongoing title since Wolverine was renamed Dark Wolverine with #75.
It’s not clear whether or not the series will revert to Wolverine when the Dark Reign storyline concludes in 2010, but Liu promised fans: “Daken isn’t going to disappear anytime soon.”
Wolverine: Origins #42 is out November 18. Dark Wolverine #80 is out November 25.
