Tennant Saddened By Final Doctor Who Episodes

To a generation of children David Tennant has been what Tom Baker was to many people my age. So it’s not surprising that his departing Doctor Who has caused such a media buzz, and for Tennant personally it is with a heavy heart that he moves on from The Doctor. A role that he loves and is as excited about as any fan out there. For Tennant by his own admission was and still is a huge fan of Doctor Who.
The end is nigh and pretty soon fans in the UK will get to see the second of the four Doctor Who specials in The Waters Of Mars, which will be shown for the first time on UK Television on Sunday, November 15.
After Waters Of Mars we’ll only have the two part special appropriately titled The End Of Time in which we’ll see Tennant regenerate into Matt Smiths 11th Doctor, and Tennant describes these last episodes as heart rending and epic.
Tennant told BBC Newsbeat: “Because you can only tell the story of a character dying once it allows you to go to places you haven’t quite been before.
“It allows you to tell types of stories that you can’t do when it’s an ongoing series. It allows it to be bigger and more epic, and sadder and wilder, and the stakes are just that bit higher.”
Actor David Harewood previously revealed that Tennant’s final days of shooting on the show were emotionally charged, with people “in tears” on set.
We here at SciFiPulse have no doubt that many children will be deeply saddened by Tennants departure, and can only offer the following pearl of wisdom. Time moves on and so does the Doctor.
