Amy HeckerlingWill the current vampire trend ever end?  Apparently not, at least not if Amy Heckerling has anything to do with it, according to Screen Daily.

Heckerling will write and direct the romantic comedy Vamps, which will be “a modern-day tale of two young female vampires living the good life in New York until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardise their immortality.” Heckerling became famous as a result of Fast Times At Ridgemont High, but she also directed Clueless and the Look Who’s Talking film franchise.

Krysten Ritter Upon Hearing She Was Cast In VampsKrysten Ritter will portray one of the lead ladies, with other casting currently taking place. This will be Ritter’s first feature film starring role  She’s probably best known for her appearance in Confessions Of A Shopaholic and will next be seen in DreamWorks’ comedy She’s Out Of My League.

Production is scheduled to start in March 2010, but no release date has yet been announced.
