It seems that casting on Marvels movie adaptation of Thor, which is to be directed by Kenneth Brannagh is going like thunder.
The movie has three new additions to the cast, and chief among them is Ray Stevenson who played the role of Frank Castle in last years rehash of The Punisher, which sadly didn’t live up to the hype, but was still a fun movie in an 80s kind of way.
Also joining the cast are Tadanobu Asano and Stuart Townsend.
All three actors have signed up to play the Asgardian warriors who are refereed to in the movie as The Warriors Three.
Reports initially broke about this casting via Variety, but some doubts were cast on the legitimacy of the news when the story was removed. Since then Marvel have officially confirmed the news via their website.
It was previously announced that Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston and Natalie Portman will also star in the picture, which will be based on a script from Mark Protosevich and Zack Stent.
Thor will be released on May 20, 2011.
