“The Master Is Desperate” Says John Simm

Christmas sees the arrival of David Tennants final adventure as the 10th Doctor in the two part adventure titled The End Of Time.
However, the two part episode which will premier on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day also sees the return of The Master who is played once again by John Simm.
In a recent interview for the popular UK Television and Radio listings magazine The Radio Times Simm talked a little about the two part episode and chatted about reprising the role of The Master, which he last played in the 2007 season finale.
“This is a Master who’s lived and died and now lives again – although he’s seen healthier days. He’s desperate, and desperate means dangerous.”
Departing showrunner Russell T. Davies added: “It’s personal for The Doctor. The Master is his enemy, his opposite, and yet so tantalizingly close to being his soul mate.
“There’s something epic about their sheer existence – the last two survivors of an ancient race. It’s a clash of the titans. Both of them, heading for death, and yet both determined to survive – at any cost!”
