Geek Syndicate Charity Auction Begins
Written by Ian Cullen on December 15, 2009 – 9:38 am -
Our friends at Geek Syndicate have started their auction, of which all proceeds will go to setting up a trust fun for the daughter of fellow podcaster and comics enthusiast Eric Martin who died last month, and left in his wake a huge void in the comic book and podcasting community.
As previously reported. The boys have managed to get the support of a great many people in the world of television and comics. And below is a quick look at some of the items that have gone up for auction.
One item that will really interest comic book fans is a ‘A lovely Mike Ploog pencil cover from Werewolf by Night’ which has been donated by BBC Television and Radio personality Jonathan Ross, who hosts Friday Night With Jonathan Ross as well as his popular radio show on BBC Radio 2.
Also of interest to comic book fans is ‘A signed initial pitch document for Captain Britain and MI-13 that no one has ever seen’. This rare piece of recent comic book history has been donated by writer Paul Cornell who resurrected Captain Britain in 2008 and reminded us all of some of the things we aspire to as British Citizens, but did so in a none preachy way.
Of interest to fans of Television. Specifically fans of the hit Syfy series Sanctuary is ‘A signed script from Season 2 of Sanctuary. It is from the first episode of the season “End of Nights, Part 1? , which is signed by Amanda Tapping, Ryan Robbins, Christopher Heyerdahl and Agam Darshi.
