Star Trek & District 9 In Hunt For Make – Up Oscar
Written by Ian Cullen on January 18, 2010 – 9:19 am -Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Star Trek and District 9, which were two of the stand out science fiction movies of last summer. Are both in the hunt for the coveted Best Make – Up Oscar at this years Academy Awards.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released a short list for the award early last week, and in the mix for the award are: District 9, Il Divo, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, The Road, Star Trek and The Young Victoria.
The films listed above will be whittled down on January 23 when members of the Academy’s makeup branch another vote to determine the final nominations. A full list of nominations for the 2010 oscars will then be released to the public on February 2.
