Over the course of his career Johnny Depp has made a name for himself by taking on various different genre roles. Roles ranging from the drug addicted Inspector Frederick Abberline in the movie adaptation of popular Alan Moore Graphic Novel – From Hell and of course the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the popular Pirates Of The Caribbean movies.
The actor isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Recently voted Britain’s favourite screen star – the actor will not only be reprising the role of Jack Sparrow for Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 – but he will also be taking on the role of Tonto in Disney’s new adaptation of the classic Lone Ranger Western series.
Digital Spy reports that Walt Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook confirmed that Depp will play the masked hero’s Native American sidekick at a Disney presentation in Los Angeles, which was attended by Depp.
Cook went on to confirm reports that Depp would be playing The Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s big screen interpretation of the classic Lewis Carroll children’s book Alice In Wonderland.
